Requesting PAKnJAKs in your Timber Fire Doors, Tested to FD30 & FD60, cuts installation time and door gap adjustments after any 6 monthly Fire Door Inspections, without the need to remove Architraves, cutting time and costs to remediate door gaps.
PAKnJAK allows for rapid and compliant door gap adjustment at no greater than 600mm centers, speeding up the fire door installation process by simplifying the alignment between the door frame and structural opening.
The adjustable PAKnJAK foot offers fine-tuned gap control (as small as 0.5mm) without needing packers or additional tools, ensuring correct door gaps of 3mm ±1mm, which reduces installation time and frustration.
Once the door has settled, PAKnJAK allows for easy post-installation gap adjustments of up to 3-4mm without removing architraves or requiring redecoration, saving both time and money on labor and additional materials.
PAKnJAK are factory installed into Timber Doorsets at no greater than 600mm centres, allowing quick and compliant door frame gap to Structural opening, for compliant fire stopping.
The ease in adjusting outwards the PAKnJAK foot before installing into the Structural Opening without packers falling out whilst trying to fix a screw into the Structural Opening saves time.
Then fixing through the PAKnJAK adjustable foot, speeds up Installation Time and allows adjustment as little as 0.5mm if required to achieve correct Door Gaps of 3mm +/- 1mm using the Allen Key provided.
After Doorsets have settled and heating has been introduced, its inevitable that the moisture content in any doorset will be reduced, meaning original door gaps will be compromised.
Normally this would mean removing architraves, intumescent strips and any fixing screw filling if not fixed through the Intumescent Groove.
To unscrew and remove fire stopping and re-pack, then re-fix the screw and then install same Fire Stopping over the new packing pieces, then re-fitting architraves and possible re-decoration, costs not only time, but possible money on other trades such as decorators, as well as Fire Stopping & Fire Door Installers.
With PAKnJAKs factory Installed, you only have to remove the Intumescent Strip, loosen the screw, then using the Allen Key provided, turn the PAKnJAK foot either Clockwise or Anti- Clockwise to increase or decrease the gap to door leaf size.
Once gaps are compliant, you re-screw tightly the fixing through the PAKnJAK foot to the structural opening, then re-fit the Intumescent Strip back in the door frame groove.
Adjustment of upto 3-4mm either side is achievable without removal of architraves and re-decoration, although in some circumstances it maybe required to install Fire Rated Interdens under the Hinge Blade to achieve compliant gaps.
